At LionEight, we believe in the power of exchange and the development that comes from embracing diverse perspectives. This summer, we proudly participated in a socially responsible initiative in collaboration with AIESEC, a global youth leadership organization. Through this partnership, we had the pleasure of hosting a talented intern from Tunisia in our Sales department. Over the course of six weeks, this exchange not only strengthened our commitment to building global connections but also enriched our team’s cultural and professional landscape. In this blog, our intern Rayan will share more about his experience during his time with us.

“As a senior business student at Tunis Business School, I often have to balance my academic studies with valuable professional experience and strong goals for my future. The coursework is demanding, and the pressure to succeed can be tough. But this situation pushes me to gain practical experience alongside my education. Having completed internships in Tunisia and Turkey, I wanted to set the bar higher and explore new opportunities. I wanted to have more exposure to working environments and develop my Skills. This drive led me to seek out international experiences through AIESEC, hoping to find an internship that would help me grow as a leader and fit my career goals, especially where I can apply my analytical skills and passion for sales and customer support.

How I ended up in Serbia and at LionEight

Serbia, with its rich history, dynamic business scene, and growing tech industry, is the ideal place to broaden my experience. I was especially attracted to Serbia for its mix of tradition and innovation, as well as the welcoming people I had heard so much about. This search led me to apply for the “LionEight” internship – a choice that turned out to be life-changing.

A warm welcome: My first day at LionEight

Since my first day in office, I have been welcomed with vibrant energy and a warm atmosphere. Being part of the Sales team, my colleagues demonstrated their willingness to help and ensure a full benefit from the experience. They were open to any potential questions or suggestions.

Education and practical application at LionEight

The internship period was divided into two parts. The first part was the educational one, where I was exposed to different Sales and CRM specialists. I have received comprehensive training, which gave me insights into the sales strategy adopted, the tools and software used, and the various techniques implemented by the team. I also gained a deep understanding of the trucking industry in the USA and the role of the ELD (electronic logging device). This foundational knowledge prepared me for the practical part, where I was ready to put these assets into practice. I worked on various projects and completed tasks, which allowed me to implement the sales strategies and tools I had learned about. I was always continuously supported and guided by my supervisors and colleagues.

Reflecting on my journey

This experience was an incredible journey, as it impacted me personally and professionally. Being a Global Talent participate with AIESEC Kragujevac and part of a strong Sales team under the supervision of experts and specialists strengthened my personality and provided me with invaluable insights and skills. Thanks to LionEight and to everyone there who impacted my journey and helped me throughout the whole period, I will always be grateful and remember the good moments that we spent together.”
